Month of Poetry 2016

4th January 2016

‘Hope’

A bird awakes

inside her chest.

Cautiously,

it spreads it’s wings,

amazed to find

it’s still alive.

It wants out.

It wants to burst

from her chest,

taking her heart

with it,

Soaring up

into the sky.
